About
Village-level facilities data from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. This describes village-level information similar to that in the Population Census village directories, but recorded between 2018 and 2020.
The Mission Antyodaya Survey is an initiative by the Government of India to effectively utilize and manage resources allocated by 27 Ministries/Departments for rural development. It serves as a valuable tool for preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP). The primary objective of the Antyodaya survey is to collect data on village infrastructure and services for over 650,000 villages in the country. The survey provides secondary data for conducting gap analysis and plays a crucial role in the formulation of development plans at the Gram Panchayat, block, and district levels. The survey is conducted using the funds available to the States/Union Territories under the administrative head of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The MA Survey for the year 2022-23 is expected to be completed by April 15, 2023. Please note that the survey is not continually updated; it is conducted periodically.
All variables related to the availability of a particular facility in aggregated Antyodaya data represent the share of population within a geographic region that have access to the facility in question.
Users are requested to refer to this note for more details about issues in the Antyodaya data. We advise caution while using these variables for analytical purposes.
